I donated to Yele. I can't remember the number for that one. When I did so, it was them or the Red Cross. Now there's a whole list to choose from for the text message donations. Impressive.

So if Facebook becomes like AOL, I wonder if it will be as hard as AOL to cancel your membership? I remember trying to cancel mine when they started charging me for two accounts because I opened a new account months after closing another one (or maybe after the free trial) using the same credit card and they took it upon themselves to interpret that to mean I wanted two accounts. I swear I was bounced all over the place and put on hold so many times I actually considered keeping two accounts because it would have been easier. If they go that way with FB, the internet is going to be nuts.

I read somewhere too that they might start charging for Hulu, Fancast, and other places where you can watch TV the day afterward. Yes, let's charge for everything in this economy. That's so going to help.

The very first thing I thought of when I woke up this morning was you. And the very first thing I see when I log on is your comment. Were you sending me ESP signals? I was going to come over and ask where have you been? Did you just think you could sneak away without anyone noticing? Your absence was noted! It was good to hear from you. XO

You can also donate using your paypal account to places like Save the Children. Just thought I would add that since a lot of your readers probably have Paypal accounts.

A High Five to you, RE, for reminding us not only of the immediate needs in Haiti, but of their on-going needs. Once this story fades from page one, we cannot allow our minds to put it on page six. This will be a NOW story until the entire country is re-built and restructured soundly. Hurricane season is coming. What will happen to those who are left? We need to think about that now.
