BOY GEORGE – BOY GEORGE ARRESTED ON FALSE IMPRISONMENT CHARGES
80′s popstar BOY GEORGE has been arrested on suspicion of assault and false imprisonment charges. The singer has been accused of kidnapping male escort Auden Carlsen and chaining him to the wall of his east London, England flat on Saturday (28Apr07). Carlsen claims he was hired by Boy George – real name George O’Dowd – to go to the singer’s flat at the early hours of Saturday morning to pose for photos. The ex-Culture Club star started taking pictures of him in kinky gear – but Carlsen claims he feared for his life soon afterwards.
He says, “George said he was popping out for milk at 5 am. I heard him come back and I walked into his bedroom wearing just my T-shirt. I was jumped on by George and another man. “George handcuffed me to a hook by the bed as they held me down.” Carlsen accuses the singer of producing a box of sex toys and whips when the other man left, telling him, “Now you’ll get what you deserve.” The escort managed to free himself by pulling the hooks from the wall and alerted the police from a nearby newsagent.
He adds, “It’s ironic that his biggest hit was Do You Really Want To Hurt Me – because I’m sure he did want to hurt me. “I was convinced I was going to die.”
The singer has been bailed while detectives probe the allegations. O’Dowd received community service last year (06) in New York when police found cocaine in his apartment.
Jailed pop star BOY GEORGE has been given a break behind bars – because he’s too popular.
The former Culture Club star feared he’d be beaten up or worse during his time at North London’s infamous Pentonville prison, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Guards and fellow inmates have been so welcoming, according to reports, officials have had to move him to a “softer” part of the tough jail.
A prison insider tells blogger Perez Hilton, “The governors were taken aback by how popular he was. A lot of the guys are of the age when they remember what a big star he was and how good the Culture Club songs were. But some officers were being too kind and giving him smokes (cigarettes).
“It’s ironic that he was worried about getting beaten up in Pentonville, but all that happened was people showered him with so much attention and kindness that they had to move him anyway.”

Shamed pop star BOY GEORGE’s time in jail has been made easier by his caring fans – they are sending the former CULTURE CLUB frontman money to spend during his stint behind bars.
The singer – real name George O’Dowd – was sentenced to serve 15 months in prison last month (Jan09) for chaining Norwegian Audun Carlsen to a hook in a bedroom at his East London apartment in April 2007.
During his incarceration in North London’s infamous Pentonville jail, George has received over 400 letters and cards from fans.
And followers of the 47-year-old are making sure his time behind bars is comfortable – many are also enclosing cash for him to spend on luxuries, which the star is putting in a prison bank account, according to reports.
A prison insider tells British newspaper the Sunday Mirror, “It’s unbelievable why so many people would want to spend their money on him.
“But he has been genuinely touched by people’s concern for him.”
