You can enjoy my family recipe for a great hot caribbean sauce, that tastes great on everything.  well almost everything..

Puerto Rican Hot Sauce

Makes one approx. 24 Oz Jar

2 cups white wine, white cane or white distilled vinegar
1/2 cup fresh pineapple juice
2/3 cup brown cane sugar or turbinado sugar
1/3 – 1/2 cup spring water
1/4 cup lime juice – fresh best with pulp included
5 -7 cloves of garlic pureed or smashed
2 – 4 habanero peppers – whole
1 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro or flat leaf parsley
1 tsp fresh thyme leaf
1 whole bay leaf
1 tsp White Mustard Seed
1 tsp sea salt

Directions:

put all ingredients into a 2qt saucepan with lid; stir well to combine.
simmer over low heat for 20 minutes, the sauce will begin to reduce while cooking. after 10 mins cooking time taste it, and adjust seasonings; add more pepper or garlic, as well as sugar if needed. when it has reached a low boil, remove the pot from the heat and allow to cool to room temperature. when cooled, strain if desired;

just a note – the pepper will continue to break down while stored, which may make your sauce hotter as it ages. Always store in glass screw top shaker bottle, and keep refrigerated.

you must use a screw top lidded bottle with this sauce; or be warned, the lid will pop off, because of the aromatic gasses that continue to ferment in the bottle, after stored.

keeps under refrigeration for up to 6 months, maybe longer. we never have any left to store that long. when we get low on this sauce, we use the bottle leftovers as the starter for the next batch. we add it to the fresh batch, when the straining takes place and it is not heated a second time – because it would change the taste.

USES:

use as a condiment on chicken, meats, or poultry. can also be used as a marinade and or the base of a delicious grilling sauce. this is the base of my hot and sweet puerto rican barbecue sauce. that recipe will be posted when enough comments arrive. (yes i know you have to make me post it – that way I know you really want it)

hint: if the sauce is too hot for you – add Sugar. Sugar reduces the heat quotient.

Has anyone had sex in space? To date, I can tell you emphatically, no. Why am I so sure? It’s simple. Guys are guys. If a guy had sex in space, he would not be able to stand not bragging about it. Am I right, or am I right? Sorry to disappoint you, but there it is. We would all know about it. Or, I should say, we will all know about it when it happens.

So, what’s the deal? Do we have blow up dolls or robots to take care of business? No, and not that we’d really want such a thing! Humans look a lot better.

Besides, would sex in space—bragging rights aside—really be so great? This week, I’ve given you a look at the difficulties of doing things in microgravity, and the potential for making some pretty disgusting messes. So, apply all you’ve learned, and honestly assess whether or not sex would be better up there. You’d have to anchor yourselves, somehow (in all six degrees of freedom), otherwise it would be more than the headboard you might bang up against. And, some objects, while not sharp (we are careful about that), might really hurt to run into during a moment of passion!

So what do we have? What do you think? There is a rule that even alcohol (for drinking) is not allowed onboard, because NASA is worried about bad PR. Can you imagine NASA wanting to address the issue of sex? Ha!

What about the future, as we fly longer and farther into space? That’s easy. Crews are already mixed, and crews will become larger. As this happens, there will be a gradual transition from crew to colony (for example, a permanent moon base). Just like in your office now, romances will sprout (which the participants will think are secret) and things will take their natural course.

And, people back on Earth (the guy’s friends) will hear about it, almost immediately after it happens. The news will quickly spread from there. And then, you’ll know.

The Entrecard founder, Graham “Adale” Langdon, claims to know what bloggers want and claims to be acting for bloggers. However, how can one make these claims when one is not a blogger himself?

The plan is to give members with the highest ratio of paid ad approvals first dibs on cashing out their credits.

Well, I don’t know the word dibs, but I understand the meaning here.

I feel the efforts of the droppers are completely neglected.
And I also feel the loyalty many have for the ads which were approved before the paid ads were introduced is not respected.

Maybe it’s a good idea to chose a day we don’t drop, so Graham can get an idea how much we mean for the system.
When there are not enough droppers active he can’t do enough with his paid advertising.

I’m calling a strike of entrecard droppers!!

Maybe friday is the perfect day for that.

To be clear: I’m not against contributing towards the continuation of the system. Not at all.
And I’m not against paid advertising.
In fact I’m all for two sided widgets, or even two widgets.
But that someone sees it fit to break an agreement and displays advertisements on my site without my consent really makes me mad.

When we want to keep the system going and all have a good time droppers need to be respected to (by someone in his twneties who’s in it for the money. Let’s be clear about that.)

This morning I had a different ad in my widget than should be there.
When reloading I got another one; not the one that should be there.

and to be blunt we have more than 10 thousand EC’s in AD Buys at this moment. that may sound ludicris to some of you, (shout out to the DTP Posse’) but if you got em, you spend em.

Entrecard and the New Ad System

“the “Community Support Rating“, a collection of variables formed into a score which will selectively enable or disable particular features across Entrecard based on your involvement with the community (NOT just whether you accept paid ads).”

Please note that Phirate does not state what exactly the punishment would be, just that your refusal to accept ads, among other things, would result in “something”, presumably meant as a punishment.

Another issue was brought up in the forum by an EC member who stated the following:

“Lets say that two blogs A and B are in the same category, have the same popularity score and both sell for the same EC price.
Blogger A never accepts paid ads, so anyone buying a spot on their widget beginning today, gets full exposure. If this is a true economic market their EC buy rate will always be higher than
Blogger B, who accepts all paid ads, and anyone who purchases space on their widget only gets 50% exposure.
So blogger B, the good camper, earns less for each ad purchased on their blog.”

To which Phirate responded as follows:

“That said, it would be disingenuous to say it couldn’t happen, so it’s possible that EC advertisers who bought your spot in good faith will have their impressions cut in half. ”

So in other words, if you play along, and attempt to help EC earn some $ through the ads (which is fine, and I was willing to do this until I found out that my regular EC advertisers would now only receive 50% of the impressions that they expected and paid for), both you and your regular advertisers will be harmed. You will find your ad price falling, as well as receiving fewer clicks for the ads you place. Your advertisers (not the paid ads) will receive fewer clicks/less traffic from the ads they place with you.

Deborah Lindquist

LA-based designer Deborah Lindquist has been a fixture on the green fashion scene since, well, before there was one. A grand dame of green, she was repurposing and recycling vintage items while some of her A list clientele – Gwen Stefani, Hilary Duff, Jessica Simpson, Paris Hilton et al – were still in diapers. Lindquist’s designs are as body conscious as they are ethically savvy. Part couture, part ready-to-wear and completely environmentally fabricated, her signature items include recycled cashmere sweaters, gorgeous yet edgy scarves, fingerless gloves and other accessories, as well as the exquisitely crafted green wedding dresses.

A graduate from the Parsons School of Design, Lindquist began designing in New York in back in 1983. Her first ever creation was a belt made from recycled leather, I imagine it was quite a novelty in an era that celebrated conspicuous consumption. But breathing new life into old clothes came naturally to a girl who grew up in a farm in Minnesota. In 1990, Lindquist headed to the City of Angels and began experimenting with bustiers made from vintage jackets. The bustiers, which were a big hit in the 90s, have enjoyed a comeback of late. The burlesque singing troop the Pussycat Dolls, are fans of the shoulder skimming, cleavage enhancing numbers. In fact, the bustiers have served Lindquist very well. They are also the centerpiece for her green wedding collection; a smash hit among socially responsible bride and grooms to be.

Living on the West Coast has certainly influenced her style. Lindquist’s sought after cashmere sweaters come in sleeveless varieties because “LA girls want to show skin at all costs”. Another by-product of living in Lalaland? Getting up close and personal with celebrities. Although Lindquist is well aware of the power celebrity can bring — demonstrated by Sharon Stone donning her Skull and Bones cashmere cardigan which sent sales through the roof – she’s not beholden to them. If celebrities dig it, great. If not, it’s business as usual. A business that now also includes a recently opened flagship store in the trendy North Hollywood Arts District.

Lindquist’s current collection boasts “a few pre-loved fabrics that have become staples in her collection such as: cashmere, kimono, sari, scarf, wool, leather, and lace”. She is also experimenting with some new textiles such as “hemp blends, organic cotton, peace silk, modal blends, and soy chiffon”. When asked about the “greenness” of some of these new vegetable fabrics, Lindquist is refreshingly frank. Soy, for example, has its downside. Although the fiber is spun from waste generated by tofu manufacturing, soy is often genetically modified and requires pesticides and herbicides. The latter is a particularly sensitive issue for Lindquist, whose father almost lost his leg to pesticides after a mishap on their farm. Other interesting fibers debuting in her current collection are “peace silks”. Whereas conventional silk is made by “boiling the intact cocoons and unwinding the single silk strand onto reels”, peace silks allow the moth “to emerge from their cocoons and to live out their full life cycle”.

All and All Sherri Shepard is dressed to the tee. I love the italian coral bracelet. it’s antique and her dress is of course 100% off the rack. she made a point of saying that she shops off the rack, as Michelle Obama does – when Michelle Obama appeared on the show a few weeks ago sporting a pretty off the rack B&W Cotton Print.  Nice to see stars setting postive fashion examples; as well as speaking up for the Truth and Rights.

Not that I don’t like Baba Walters;butterah,,

she should have known better than to fix her mouth in that way..
